Online Platform Code of Conduct for the Sisterhood<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The comments we say both in-person and online can affect others \u2013 let\u2019s use our words to encourage each other and be positive, even when we\u2019re not face-to-face. The Official Red Hat Society groups within RedHatSociety.com and on social media have a certain set of guidelines that we would like all members to follow:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Be Kind and Positive<\/strong> – Hatting is about fun and friendship, be positive and kind to one another. Disrespectful comments or posts will be deleted and the author might be removed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Be Inclusive<\/strong>, not exclusive. Posts in any chapter should be relevant to all members of that chapter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. No Hate Speech or Bullying.<\/strong> No bullying of any kind, or degrading comments will be tolerated. It is our mission to make everyone feel safe and welcome.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. No Personal Attacks on People or Events.<\/strong> If you have a complaint, please bring it to the attention of your friends at Hatquarters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. No Soliciting.<\/strong> Please do not solicit Members on this platform. Sales posts will be deleted and the offender may be removed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Member Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    For over 20 years, the Red Hat Society enjoys a reputation as a worldwide, lively, free flowing \u2013 no rules \u2013 sort of community. But the truth is we would not be a thriving, global Sisterhood if we didn\u2019t have a few guidelines. We strive to be inclusive and welcome women of all walks of life. Hatquarters is proud to have always limited our guidelines to a select few, giving our Queens and members plenty of room for individuality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Our guidelines are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    1. Queens and members pay dues. Dues are paid online, by phone or mailed to the RHS Hatquarters remittance processing address; 4956 W 6200 S #104,  Salt Lake City, UT 84118. This revenue is sent to cover the costs of maintaining, developing and providing programs for the benefit of members of RHS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. RHS Queens support the Society by ensuring that all of the women who play within their chapter pay annual dues to the RHS. Members join the Society first as a member of the Official Red Hat Society Chapter and then, if they wish, they may align with other local and\/or online chapters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Whether hosted by Hatquarters, an online or local chapter, RHS events are intended for our official members. At RHS events, Queens and members wear the Society\u2019s signature colors of red and purple (for those 50 and beyond) and pink and lavender (for those under 50). How a Queen or member interprets the use of our colors is at her discretion and fun needs to be at the center of it all.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Requirements of Chapter Queens and Members<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The Red Hat Society believes in the guidelines as denoted earlier in The Role of a Queen and Member. Queens and members are asked to uphold these guidelines so that we might all–together–ensure the global sisterhood of the Society lives on for generations to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Queen & Member Pledge (Of course we have a pledge!)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      I pledge to faithfully support my red and pink hat sisters. I will use this positive spirit to impact my local community with the fun and friendship found only in official Red Hat Society membership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      I promise to honor RHS by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u2022 Committing to all values, guidelines, principles, and the Passion Statement of RHS found within the RHS handbook and website<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u2022 Actively participating in the sisterhood (i.e., playing online, taking part in local, regional and international events)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u2022 Representing RHS as true royalty when I am in regalia by being kind to others and carrying myself in a ladylike fashion<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u2022 Ensuring my annual membership dues are renewed on time<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u2022 Encouraging those with whom I am hatting to become a member-in-good-standing of the Red Hat Society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      I pledge to wear the colors of official membership (red and purple for those over 50; pink and lavender for those under 50) with pride – professing to the world that \u201cRed and Pink Hatters Matter!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      I pledge to share the fun found in RHS Membership with women I come in contact with as a testament to the Society\u2019s global sisterhood and quest to ensure women get the most out of life!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Most importantly, I pledge to ensure that FUN is at the heart of everything I do as a red or pink hatter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      NO TOLERANCE ZONE:<\/strong>
      1) Mean Girls Action is Grounds for Immediate Removal.
      2)Social Media Outlet Behavior will be Closely Monitored for those who engage in negative, rude, disrespectful attacks on another RHS Member, Hatquarters, RHS Programs..
      3)Public display of any of the above mentioned are grounds for removal without notice.
